October Cards and Veteran's Day

I wanted to share with you the cards that I made with my October 2012 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month.  I got a lot of cards out of this kit an still had paper and letters left over.

I also wanted to take the chance as we observe Veteran's Day here in the US to thank those who have served or are serving in the armed forces and also to their families.  I come from a military family.  My father served in the Air Force for over 20 years and is now buried in the National Veteran's Cemetery in Bakersfield.  My oldest brother served in the Army for 4 years and my youngest brother served in the Navy for 12 years.  All loved being a part of the military and serving their county.

Please take time to ponder the sacrifices these men, women and their families have made for our country and allowed us the freedoms we take for granted.

September Cards and a Hint of Fall

October is here and we are finally enjoying some cooler weather here in central California.  It went from 100 degrees down to the 70s in about a week.  It turned cooler on my birthday (October 5) when it reached the 70's.  Today the temp rose a little (about 90) and but it supposed to start being in the low 70's next week and cooler after that.  YEAH!

I wanted to share some of the cards I made using the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for September.

August Cards

Wow! September 1 already.  Summer flew by and we have finally gotten below 100 degrees for the last two days...yeah!

Just wanted to share the cards I made using the August Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  I totally love their card kits.  They are such a great value!

Olympic Fever and June Cards

Wow...today is the final day of the 2012 Summer Olympics and I have watched MANY, MANY hours of them.  There were some exciting moments but I am glad to see them come to an end.  I was able to watch so many hours because I am half way through a two week "staycation."  So  this next week I will be doing things around the house.  Deep cleaning, organizing closets, things I don't have time to do when working.

Like much of the US we are experiencing some very hot temperatures.  It's been about 108 the last two days and I attended an OUTDOOR wedding yesterday.  The ceremony was at 5:00 p.m. but it was still well over 100 degrees.  Then we were relieved to be getting inside for the reception and the A/C was working so they only had ONE portable A/C in a room with about 150 people.  Yes it was warm!  It was a beautiful wedding and my friend the bride was one of the most beautiful brides I am have seen.

Okay..on to the crafting part of the post.  Here are the cards I made using the June Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month.  I didn't make as many cards from this kit, I think because I wasn't really feeling the papers, not my style.  But I did love the stamp set that Kristina Werner created for the kit.  Her stamps sets have been fabulous.  Here are the cards I did create. Happy 2012!

Happy New Year!  I can't believe 2012 is here.  I have been off work since December 23 and will be returning to working on January 3.  Let me tell you vacation goes by MUCH quicker than the work week does.

Just wanted to wish you all a happy 2012.  I resolve to reconnect with old friends and update my blog more regularly.
